You will be seen by a fully qualified and registered Osteopath.

You will be asked detailed questions about your current complaint, medical history and general health including medication.

A standing examination is necessary to assess the area of injury.

You may be asked to undress to your underwear to enable the osteopath to undertake the examination, while at all times respecting your privacy and dignity. Please therefore wear suitable, comfortable clothes.

You will be asked to do simple movements to show the range of mobility and simple medical tests may be used to focus on the correct diagnosis, i.e. testing reflexes.

A diagnosis and treatment plan will be discussed before treatment takes place.

You may experience some discomfort for up to 48 hours after treatment.

Aftercare including hot/cold therapy, exercise regimes and postural advice will be given at the end of the treatment when necessary.
